I Would Miss Him Too Much!
When we started dating, Matthew and I made a deal that if one of us had to go out of town for more than 48 hours, then we go together so that we don’t have to be apart. After two and a half years, we have only had to break our deal twice. Once was because Matthew had a job out of town and I had just had a baby, so traveling would have been hard. The other was because he was in jail. I’ll share more on that second one later, but basically, we are pretty much always together! I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Work-Cation Road-Trips
Our 48 hour rule has made these last two months very busy and crazy fun! Matthew was awarded a few construction jobs this year which have required him to travel to the beautiful Upper Peninsula. Having never been to that part of the country, I was super excited to join him! I must say, it has been an extraordinary experience to watch the seasons change in this gorgeous part of the country. I will always consider Paradise my favorite place on earth, but visiting Yooperland has been unforgettable. We have played in Lake Superior, hiked to waterfalls, toured an old mine, flew in a seaplane, had life altering conversations, ate incredible food, met wonderful people, and made a million memories. Together! Life with My Love is so full and so good!
Tips From Our Trips
Our first two trips to the UP, we rented a beautiful trailer off of RVshare.com. We hadn’t ever done this before so we weren’t sure what to expect, but it was awesome! We were able to load it up with everything we would need, and when we had to move to a new site we just hooked up and left. It was so nice! I would highly recommend traveling that way.
If you visit Lake Superior, bring a black light with you. There are these beautiful rocks on the beach called yooperlites and if you shine a black light on them, they glow! They aren’t super easy to find, but the hunt is worth it. We were unprepared on our trips up there, so we weren’t able to find one, but we ran into someone who was able to show us his find and it was incredible!
