Messages of Hope

If It’s Good, Share It

I am of the opinion that if you find something good, it is worth sharing with others! In the year 2021 many of us suffered quite a bit of hardship. I know people that lost loved ones, suffered illness, struggled with unemployment, went through a faith crisis, etc. In our family, Matthew was arrested, we went months without seeing some of our children, many of us were sick, and we had phases of debilitating fear and pain. But, you want to know what I found last year that I believe is worth sharing? Hope. It feels so good! So good in fact, that I want everyone to hear about it! Which is why I am starting this new page called “Messages of Hope.”

This picture of the sunrise was taken by Matthew in our front yard. The sun is the perfect example of Hope for me. It comes up every morning, and sets every night. We need more of this in our lives!

Today’s Message of Hope

Today my message of hope is that there is joy and fulfillment when you have to start over. When God asks you to close a door, He will provide a way to move forward. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all things can and will be made right. Matthew and I both left marriages that were filled with heartache. Neither of us were sure what the future would look like or if we would ever get a second chance at love and marriage. What an incredible gift that God brought us together! Matthew is my perfect person. I have said many times that I didn’t believe in second chances until I met mine. In 2021 we celebrated 2 years of marriage and welcomed our first baby together into our family. All the heartache feels worth it, because we are together.

God is full of glorious surprises. He is the master healer. If you or someone you love is suffering loss from having to close a door, don’t give up! Hold on! In his talk titled, “Let Him Do It with Simplicity,” L. Tom Perry Said:

“Those of us who have been around a while… have recognized certain patterns in life’s test. There are cycles of good and bad times, ups and downs, periods of joy and sadness, and times of plenty as well as scarcity. When our lives turn in an unanticipated and undesirable direction, sometimes we experience stress and anxiety. One of the challenges of this mortal experience is to not allow the stresses and strains of life to get the better of us—to endure the varied seasons of life while remaining positive, even optimistic. Perhaps when difficulties and challenges strike, we should have these hopeful words of Robert Browning etched in our minds: “The best is yet to be” (“Rabbi Ben Ezra,” in Charles W. Eliot, ed., The Harvard Classics, 50 vols. [1909–10], 42:1103). We can’t predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come.”

I believe this 100%. “The best is yet to come.”
